Arthur J. Austin, a milk dealer, had this house built in 1905. In 1916, he had the house next door, at 1318 Lincolnway East, built for rental purposes. Upon his death in 1925, the property was left to his wife, Louise. She resided in this house and continued to rent the house next door until her death in 1935.
