Boler B. Banks built this house in 1911 for Henry and Anna Lerner, who rented out the property until Henry Lerner's death in 1930. Anna Lerner sold it to Phocian Rhoads in 1931. Mr. Rhoads was an agent for the Royal Typewriter Company. The property was then sold by the Sheriff in 1934 to the Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States to pay off Mr. Rhoads's debts.
