This house was built for George and Kate Ware between 1886 and 1889. George Ware was part owner of Sibley and Ware Machine Company until his retirement in 1903. Kate Ware lived here until 1907. She then sold the Queen Anne house to Ida and Frank Borst, who owned the property for a short period. Local surgeon Thomas Olney and his wife Mary lived in the house from 1907 to 1926.
