Abner and Emma Frank had this house built between 1886 and 1889. Abner, a carriage maker and woodworker, was listed as the principal resident in the 1889 directory. The Franks lived here until 1908. The Gabled-Ell house became a rental property for a few years until Clark D. Tiedmann purchased and resided in the house by 1919.
