Catherine M. Huff, the widow of Peter Huff, purchased this property in 1894 from William and Amelia Boyd. She is listed in residence at this address in the 1896 city directory. She resided here with her daughters, Minerva and Flora. Minerva Huff acquired the Gabled-Ell home by 1916 and resided there into the 1930s.
