Originally constructed as a rental prospect by Hammond and Whitcomb, it was sold to realtor Arthur Keltner in 1906. Keltner transferred the house to Walter Weld. Mr. Weld rented the house out until 1922, when it was sold to Christian Weiss, an employee of Northern Indiana Public Service Company.
