It was constructed in 1913 by Hammond and Whitcomb as a rental. Mr. Hammond owned the house until 1920, when he sold it to LaRue and Louise Smith. They lived there until 1931, then began renting it out. Their daughter, Joan Louise Martin, sold the house in 1961 to James P. Ierace.
