Jesse and Lettie Kanouse had this home built by Whitcomb and Keller in 1928. Jesse Kanouse operated a coal company, Kanouse and Phillips, later known as Kanouse Coal Company. They stayed there until 1951, when the house was bought by William and June Booth. Mr. Booth was a comptroller for Bendix Home Appliances.
