Dr. Edward E. Johnston, whose office was in the Citizen's Bank Building, built this house with his wife, Mary, in 1925. In 1929 the Johnstons sold the house to the Coquillard Land Company, which subsequently sold it to the Whitcomb and Keller Corporation, which used it as a rental unit. In 1934 the house was sold to attorney Henry Humrichouser and his wife, Jeanette, who resided there until 1940.
