Developers Whitcomb and Keller built this H.R. Stapp-designed home for Studebaker Corporation physician John W. Hilbert and his wife, Ada, in 1925. The Hilberts lived in the house until 1930 when it was purchased by Daniel and Henrietta Lantz. Mr. Lantz was part of the coal dealer Samuel C. Lantz and Sons.
