George F. Geyer had this house constructed in 1900, and he owned it until his death in 1930. His daughter, Mattie Geyer Gardner, inherited the house. In 1948, the house was sold by Mattie's husband, Dean Gardner, to Charlotte Jacobs. About 1955, the Jacobs family had the commercial addition added to the front of the house.
