Local developer George Souder constructed this home in 1894 in conjunction with Daniel P. Roof, a carpenter. Daniel Roof occupied the house after construction, and in 1900, it was purchased from Mr. Souder. After Daniel's death in 1911, the house was inherited by his wife, Addie.
