In 1920, Whitcomb and Keller built this house as a rental property. Foreman Henry J. Buttolph and his wife, Mildred, purchased it in 1923. Mildred Buttolph lived in the house after her husband's death in 1928. University of Notre Dame professor LeClair H. Eells purchased it in 1937.
