This house was built for Benjamin J. Abbott, a proprietor of the Crescent Machine Works, in 1909. He invented a machine to make horseshoe nails. Mr. Abbott lived in this house until he died in 1932, and the property was left to his daughter, Mary Rolene Abbott.
