Purchased in 1931 by Albert Kendall, this Whitcomb and Keller-built home was designed by H. R. Stapp in 1929. Mr. Kendall used it as a rental property until 1937, when ownership was transferred back to Whitcomb and Keller. It was then sold to Eugene and Vallie Payton. Eugene Payton was secretary-treasurer of the South Bend Association of Credit Men, Inc.
