The tennis pavilion for the Leeper Park Tennis Courts was built after 1965 by the Parks Department. The Works Progress Administration (WPA) shelter house, built in 1938-1939, once stood near the tennis courts. The playground was also located there before it was moved across Lafayette Blvd.
