Known as 728 Portage Avenue before 1908, this house was built prior to 1898. In 1898, Rezeau Brown, a mason, and his wife Nancy, were residents. By 1903, the Gable Front house was converted into two or more apartments. Mrs. Evelyn Dilling Watkins, a widow, resided in the home from 1903 until 1910. Subsequent residents included Charles and Mary Dolk, Guy Rohrer, George Sparks, and Jay Harris.
