Formerly known as 527A Portage Avenue, this house was built prior to 1899. By 1908, Mary J. Garwood had purchased the home after living on Forest Avenue. She also continued to live with her sister, Lydia, who was a seamstress. Lydia acquired the home from her sister by 1916 and lived there until 1919.
