In 1883, Mary Deal purchased lot 67 of Chapin Place from Edward Chapin. The house was constructed by 1886. She and her husband, Orange Deal, raised one daughter, Iva. Orange worked for a carriage works factory in the carriage body fabrication area. The house remained in the Deal/Badet family until 1943 when Mary DuShane and Ann DuShane Nuner purchased the house for investment purposes and converted it into three apartments.
