Samuel Good built this house around 1903. It was used as a rental until 1921, when it was sold to George and Lillian Hess. Mr. Hess was a South Bend mail carrier. The couple resided there until the late 1930s, when the house was bought by Stephen Barzo, an employee of the Studebaker Corporation.
