This house was built in 1905 for Guy D. Staples, a member of one of the first pioneer settlements in this area. Mr. Staples and William Hildebrand formed the Staples-Hildebrand Construction Company in 1912, at which time Mr. Staples still owned the Hollingsworth Ice Company. He sold the house in 1920.
