The lot 210 of the original plat of South Bend was originally owned by Reverend Hackney, a minister at the First Methodist Episcopal Church. Following his death in 1893, his wife sold the property to George Omacht. At some point, the house at 432 N. Lafayette was moved to 1010 W. Washington. Members of the Omacht family owned the property through the late 1970s.
