Local architects Freyermuth and Maurer were hired by S. Harry Salinger to construct this house in 1903. Mr. Salinger was the proprietor of Economy Department Store and later became secretary-treasurer of the Swanson-Lee Furniture Store. In 1930, he went into real estate.
