Constructed in 1926 by Whitcomb and Keller, this Stapp-designed house was sold in 1931 to James and Pearl Hughes. James was employed with the Studebaker Corporation as an engineer. The property was purchased in 1941 by Ralph and Helene VanHorne. Ralph was the president of Van Horne and Company, a jewelry dealer.
