This H. R. Stapp-designed house was built in 1928 by Whitcomb and Keller. It was sold the following year to William and Eleanor Benitz. William Benitz taught mechanical engineering at Notre Dame for 42 years. The house was sold in 1943 to Dr. Bernard and Ruth Edwards.
