Purchased in 1928 by Frank and Edith Carpenter, this house had been constructed in 1927 by Whitcomb and Keller and designed by H. R. Stapp. Frank Carpenter was the manager of the S. S. Kresge Company. It was sold in 1944 to Heyward and Jean Gibson. Heyward Gibson was an official with the South Bend Bait Company.
