Wolf Elbel owned this Cross Gable house by 1886 and lived there until 1903. Wolf emigrated from Germany in 1850 at the age of twenty and worked as a shoemaker and musician. Henry Beutter, a cigar dealer, and his wife, Clara, purchased the property by 1908. They raised two children, Erma and Charles, and lived there until 1950.
