Local developers Whitcomb and Keller built this house in 1924 and it was rented in 1925 to Leo and Antoinette Opperman. They purchased the house in 1928. Leo Opperman was a music teacher and a musician at the Palace Theatre. Mrs. Opperman was employed as a saleslady at the Economy Department Store in South Bend.
