Sibley Machine and Foundry Corporation superintendent John Nicol, and his wife, Leona, built this house in 1922. After Mr. Nicol died in 1939, his widow continued living in the house until 1950, when their daughter, Anne Carr, who was supervisor of the St. Joseph County Welfare Department, purchased it.
